Bill Muehlenberg, CultureWatch, http://www.billmuehlenberg.com/2010/03/01/jesus-meek-and-mild-or-conquering-king/ - 1 Mar. 2010:

It happens to be a bit crude (so forgive me here), but it is both humorous and really quite accurate.  This is the slogan that was emblazoned on the T-shirt: “Jesus is coming back, and boy is he pissed”.  That pretty well sums up what we read about in the book of Revelation.

[Bill is becoming so thoroughly (if unconsciously) secularised that I'm now accepting bets on when we'll first see the 'F' word spelt out in full on his site.]

Bill Muehlenberg, CultureWatch - 2 March 2010

http://www.billmuehlenberg.com/2010/03/02/getting-the-big-picture/

What we desperately need today are politicians of backbone and politicians who stand on principle, aware of the bigger picture. Interestingly, just minutes ago someone emailed me, asking if I would stand as a political candidate. I declined for various reasons, but there certainly is a crying need for men and women who care deeply about the greater good to take a stand in the political arena.

Just imagine it.  Bill running for office.   Cheesy

Peter Stokes, Salt Shakers, email to supporters, 2 Mar. 2010:

Last weekend saw thousands of people remove all their clothes on the steps of the Opera house for a 'photographic stunt' by a photographer who has become famous for mass nude photography.  Shows how low society has become when that can make a man famous and Governments and Councils facilitate such events.

[Oh, come on, Peter, show a bit of grace for once.  'The mass nude-in at the Sydney Opera House attracted three times as many punters as we can round up in a month for our anti-abortion bomb-outs.  Well done, guys.'  Something like that?]

David van Gend, Family Council of Queensland (a National Civic Council front), 'Next stolen generation ...', News Weekly, 6 Mar. 2010, 14:

The Surrogacy Bill 2009, passed by the Queensland Parliament by 45 votes to 36 on February 11, should have been about altruistic surrogacy as a 'last resort' for an infertile couple.  But no, under that respectable cloak this new act has smuggled in a radical proposal to deprive children of their birthright - their fundamental right to enter the world, as most of us did, with both a mother and a father ...  This act now allows all Queensland adults aged over 25 (including a single man or woman, or same-sex couples) to obtain a child 'of their own' using reproductive technology such as IVF and a surrogate womb ...

[Translation: Any child not born to a legally married, heterosexual couple is to be forever regarded as a 'mistake' and a second-class citizen.  For some reason best known to himself, God has allowed these unfortunates to exist, but that doesn't mean that we of the Christian Right can't do our very best to make their lives a permanent misery.]

Ted Watt, WA Coordinator, Right to Life Australia, 'Euthanasia in WA?', Right to Life News, Jan.-Feb. 2010, 6:

(Regarding a new WA Bill aimed at legalising voluntary euthanasia) - Will the Bill pass?  Almost certainly not ...  Pro-life members of the Legislative Council seem to have the matter in hand ...

[Like most so-called 'pro-lifers', Ted thinks that the letter of the law is all that matters.  If he knew how widespread the practice of voluntary euthanasia and physician-assisted suicide is in WA, he might be a little less relaxed.]

Bill Muehlenberg, CultureWatch, http://www.billmuehlenberg.com/2010/03/05/2433/ - comment dated 5 Mar. 2010:

Yes, we have to wonder why the Brits fought the Nazi totalitarians, but they refuse to fight the homosexual totalitarians ...

[Bill, this cavalier attitude of yours just won't do.  You have to take the medication every day!]

Political and religious extremists like Bill often have this problem.  They can maintain an apparently respectable, pseudo-rational facade most of the time but can't permanently suppress their fundamental misanthropy and visceral irrationality.  Hence the 'homosexual totalitarians', 'wild-eyed feminazis' and 'moonbat atheists' that populate Bill's pages.

Catherine Davis on abortion as racism in the US:

Quote
"The abortion industry is targeting the black woman," she said. "There is no lynch mob wearing white sheets and hoods. What they've done is take off the hoods and put on suits and say: let's go and kill the black people. It's cloaked itself by talking about choice. But the industry has targeted the black community. If people were put on the endangered species list then certainly black children would be there because more are aborted than at any time in history."

Sorry.   Never studied US history or geography much in high school.  Now`s as good a time as any, I suppose.  Tongue

Damien Spillane, CultureWatch site, http://www.billmuehlenberg.com/2010/03/09/the-blind-side-and-hollywood’s-dilemma/ - comment dated 11 Mar. 2010:

(I saw the movie) 'The Blind Side' tonight, and was truly impressed.

Actually portrayed Christians in a good light and featured a rich, American family inspired by Christian principles to save a down and out African-American, great Christian message that transcended racial boundaries.

I also liked the pro-gun message when (Sandra) Bullock tells one of the gangstas she is packing heat.

[Good old Damien - pro-life, pro-death, makes no difference to him.  Or to his god, apparently.]

Peter and Jenny Stokes, 'Global Atheist Convention', Salt Shakers Journal, Mar. 2010, 4:

Please pray for those attending this (global atheist) conference.  Pray that, as they hear speakers proclaiming that there is no God, the Holy Spirit will convict them of God's existence.

[I don't suppose we should speak ill of the brain-dead.  But, Peter and Jenny, can't you try to be just a little more practical and effective than this?]

Jenny Stokes, 'Christianity and Politics ...', Salt Shakers Journal, Mar. 2010, 8:

Laurie Oakes actually did ask Kevin Rudd what he thought about evolution in an interview in January 2010.  Kevin responded, 'I have always believed in evolution.  The reason is it's an empirical science.  It's been established ...'

Empirical science?  Established?  Hardly!

[Jenny clearly thinks that evolution is something other than an 'empirical science', perhaps a fantasy or an elaborate set of deliberate lies.  I sometimes wonder how such delusional people can survive in the world.]

Peter Stokes,  Salt Shakers E news: ...Church should apologise to homosexuals

"we can then see clearly that science is increasingly proving the existence of an all powerful creator God..."

My impression of Peter interpereting Scientific data - "Blah blah blah blah, I can't hear you! I am not listening, blah blah blah blah..."  Cool
